The Shanghai, I Love You Annual Student Film Festival is a short film competition involving many schools in Shanghai. At a time when the Chinese film industry is about to become the largest in the world, there is a major opportunity for students to discover all its facets. Established film industry professionals are leading this initiative, and every year 10 to 15 short films will be mentored and supported as part of this festival. A real link has been made with film industry suppliers to create one of the most exciting and cross-disciplinary opportunities for Shanghai based students. 11 SWAN short-films have been produced in 2015 months, involving 150 students with no experience in filmmaking, and representing 16 nationalities. These young apprentices have been mentored by a jury of established professionals. Their work has been screened, discussed and awarded during a prestigious gala at the Shanghai Concert Hall. Empowering new born filmmakers.
